BoxFresh Shoes Trainers Review

One brand that has caught my attention over the last year or two is BoxFresh. Where did they come from. At one point they were completely unknown, then they were quickly being sold in all the shops. Would you believe they have been around for about 20 years. BoxFresh footwear is super stylish and land somewhere between shoes and trainers when it comes to appearance and wear ability. They are comfortable like a pair of trainers, but many pairs actually look like smart, unique shoes.

Update for 2021. Boxfresh have now closed their doors due to the Coronavirus. So if you want to buy a pair of Boxfresh now you will have to look around on the Internet (eBay, Amazon etc) to see what stock is left out there.

They are a great choice for people that want the casual, slightly more grown up look without making the sacrifice of having terribly uncomfortable feet that wearing normal shoes can sometimes bring. So, what are they like to wear. Once worn in a little they are extremely comfortable. They mould to your foot shape very well and actually feel like a pair of trainers after a while. You can get pairs of BoxFresh that look like trainers but they still remain a bit more shoey to me than a full blown pair of trainers. All BoxFresh footwear looks really smart with jeans or Chinos.

Boxfresh-Swich-Shoes

Even though mine are now battered, I still wear them for walking the dog etc. My only negative words about these shoes would be that the suede used to make BoxFresh shoes and boots is like the creatures out of the film Gremlins. Once they get wet all hell breaks loose. What I mean by this is that once wet they seem to become permanently stained / discoloured and nothing seems to be able to get them back to how they were originally.

But saying that, Isn't it the same for any shoes or trainers that are made of suede. It's a delicate material. Next time I might buy a leather pair of BoxFresh as they might be better suited to an all terrain shoe wrecker like me.

If you look around you can find a nice pair of discount BoxFresh. Websites like Amazon, the site I bought mine from do at times have great discounts if you hunt around. I didn't pay much for my pair. As we speak I have my eye on another pair of BoxFresh boots that have been slashed in price to £** on Amazon.

They are the last pair of that particular style and price available. But I don't mind telling you about them because as soon as I publish this post I'm going straight over to Amazon UK to buy them. Compared to other shoes and trainer brands, BoxFresh are still widely unknown. So if you do happen to buy a pair, like I have, your friends will ask you what make they are and where you got them from.

I've had it many times. If I'm looking to buy some new footwear BoxFresh are one of the first brands I look at. There comfortable, fairly unique, and go well with most casual clothing. I love them!

Demonia Creepers Secret Hiding Place

I wrote a post the other day about a pair of black Demonia Creepers (For sale here) that I had given to me for free. At that time I wasn't aware of the secret they were hiding!. I was browsing around the Internet and just happened to come across a youtube video that said the Demonia Creepers have a secret compartment in the sole. After watching the video I was eager to go and take a look at my Creepers (2 inch soles)..Do mine have a hiding place?? Yes they do.  See the pictures below.

Demonia Creepers Secret Hiding Place

Want to know where it is..Lift up the innersole and you should see a black coffin with a red cross on the front. There should be a little string attached to that (Pictured above). Grab the string and pull it. The coffin should pop out from the sole, exposing a little compartment that you could hide something in!

I've never seen or heard of this before, and I think it's exclusive to Demonia Creepers. On the pair I have the compartment doesn't go any deeper than the coffin itself. On some pairs I believe the hiding place is bigger.. If I wanted to hide something in mine it would have to be stuffed into the coffin hollow and then placed back into the sole. This is a great little find though, and I'm sure there must be loads of people out there unaware that they have this cool little feature literally right under their feet! You can find Demonia Creepers for sale in many stores online, see them here on Amazon UK and Amazon USA.

Vivienne Westwood Square Toe Shoes

Check out this beautiful pair of Vivienne Westwood square toe shoes. They feature a pink and brown, leather and fabric upper and have glittery golden laces. The shoes are gilded throughout. Even underneath. I'm not sure what year / season this design is from (Does anyone know?) but they are an amazing pair of shoes. This is another donation. They are for tiny feet. The size of these shoes is a UK 2.5!.

They were made in Italy. Being  Vivienne Westwood I think they were quite expensive to buy when they were brand new, maybe a few hundred pounds. Not sure if they can still be bought from a shop brand new today? I just had a look on the Vivienne Westwood website at the women's shoes and they're nowhere to be seen.

Closest thing similar to these heeled shoes is the "Tracy Trainer" (Classic gold label shoes). But they don't look much like these to be honest. They don't even have the square toe. This pair have seen a good amount of use but still have plenty of life left in them.

Black Suede Demonia Creepers Images

Other than TUK and Underground, Demonia Creepers are quite sought after. They are one of the better brands out there that make Brothel Creepers where quality is concerned. Demonia is quite a Gothic brand, and this particular pair of Creepers have never been worn but are rather dusty due to sitting under a bed for a few years! I believe they are the 101 model (Goth Punk Rockabilly) that have the two inch sole.. They have been donated to me for free!.

Creepers aren't really my style, so I might put them up for sale at some point. They are a size 5 (Won't fit me anyway), and other than the dust they are in great condition. However, unfortunately they don't come with the original box. I've taken some pictures of the shoes for people who are looking to buy a pair and want to see some images that are from a real pair in real life, not library or professional sale stock images.

At this time, because of the boost in popularity, there are many companies that have taken to making "Creepers". But most of them are really low in quality and the cheap price reflects this. Only buy Creepers from a good brand like TUK, Underground or Demonia. The quality is much better and the shoes will last you a good while without falling apart.

A lot of the reviews for the cheaper Creepers are terrible. But they all have one thing in common, they are mostly from the unknown brands / companies that are making poor quality products. The Demonia Creepers are quite expensive to buy. I wonder how much I should try and sell this pair for.. £20? £25? Any takers.. People are Huarache Sneaker Crazy

Nike Huarache, undoubtedly, are one of the most popular sneakers right now. If there is a majority of you reading this article that are in your teens you are probably not aware that these trainers are older than you are!. Huarache's were very first presented to the mainstream around 25 years ago.

The tight, well fitted design, thanks for the tongue being as one with the rest of the shoe, ended up being one of the things that was brand-new for that time period. Couple that with how nice they are in appearance and you have a winner. The fit is really good, and most people want a pair because of how they feel on the feet. But one downside to this tight, comfy fit is that your feet can sweat a fair bit more when wearing Huarache's compared to when wearing many other pairs / brands of sneakers.

An original pair from the 90's that I had forgotten about.

Just like now, when they were first came on the scene decades ago they were just as popular. The money made from these sneakers was / is plenty. No wonder Nike are bringing out so many different colours and styles. People are Huarache crazy! There have been a few reports of people getting robbed for their Nike Huarache's! Youths robbing other youths. OK, they are nice sneakers but come on, are they really worth robbing off someones feet and possibly doing some time in jail for...

Same with the Adidas Yeezy Boosts, 350, 750, 950's.. I'm surprised someone hasn't been killed yet fighting over Yeezy's in the Que at the store..Or have they and I haven't heard about it? People are even more crazy for the Yeezy's when it comes to the prices they are willing to pay. Yeezy's on eBay are approaching $1000.. Even the earlier versions are selling for $400 - $600. Crazy!
