Plantar Fasciitis Insoles Review

For those suffering from lower foot pain, in particular, heel discomfort (possible Plantar Fasciitis) and want some cheap relief, a quick and relatively effective solution which can help to ease the symptoms can be achieved by adding some extra support by placing Orthotic Insoles into your regular shoes. In most instances, when adding Orthotic Insoles to your normal footwear, your shoes should ideally have removable insoles, as some Orthotic Insoles for Plantar Fasciitis can be fairly thick, or at least, considerably thicker at the heel.

However, some shoes only have an extremely thin layer of non-removable padding that lines the footbed. For these types of “insoles”, and also for shoes that come with thin removable insoles, it would be fine to just add your new Orthotic insoles directly on top of that as long as the fit isn’t then too tight.

Good thing is, not all Orthotic Insoles are thick. In fact, some are quite thin. And most go thinner as they travel down the shoe. The Pro11 Wellbeing (Plantar Series) have a good selection of excellent slim-fitting insoles available. Some of which are NHS approved.

Also, worth being aware of with Orthotic Insoles, although some are fairly hard, the big majority do mould / settle to your foots natural shape after a while. Some have less play (density) and some have more, so be sure of which you need, or prefer, and carefully read the product description before you buy as they are not all the same.

This is also the case with how they are shaped too, going from a fairly low and even level of support, to a very high and pronounced level of heel and arch support. Different lengths are also available. Full length and ¾ length are the most popular. There’s’ also shorter length insoles that only fit the heel (Heel Cups).

The price can also vary dramatically, starting at well-under ten pounds and rising to about £30. For custom-made Orthotic Insoles from a Podiatrist, you could be paying well-over £100. Although price isn’t really a reflection of how effective they will be, and a lot of people are pleasantly surprised by how some cheaper pairs out-do their pricier competitors. But when it comes to feet, no two pairs are the same, so the process of finding the perfect insoles for you as an individual can be quite a struggle.

If you’ve tried all the cheaper insoles but still have no relief with your foot problems, going for custom-made might be worth a try for you. However, it's recommended for individuals to try some common brands and universal fits before spending considerable money on custom-made versions. The good news is, when it comes to the cheaper mainstream insole brands, there is a “Standard” which will fit the bill for a lot of people, and the Pro11 Wellbeing Plantar product line certainly fall into that category.

The amount of wearers praising them for their all-round effectiveness, considering the cheap price tag, is really impressive. Pro11 Wellbeing’s Plantar series are not the only insole brand that are cheap but effective. Other brands well worth considering, that sit within the same price range, are Sole Control, FootActive and Edison Elite (pictured below).

Lots of people use both their normal insole and an Orthotic pair. Many individuals, from runners to hikers, and casual shoe wearers with no foot problems what so ever, also buy these insoles to add some extra comfort / support to their shoes.

Part of their Plantar series, some Pro11 Wellbeing Plantar insoles, mostly of the thicker variety, do fall a little and mould to the wearer’s foot shape, but still offer superb arch / foot support. Some wearers prefer this, while others need a more solid base. As mentioned above, be sure to buy the correct specification for your needs, like hardness level and thickness requirements.

Along with offering relief and support for other foot conditions, like Achilles Tendonitis, general aches and pains, fallen arches and over pronation, they are made to be especially beneficial for people suffering from Plantar Fasciitis. They are excellent value for money, and the full length pairs can be cut to size should you need to make them smaller. - Shoe Mojo
